While we hope that everything we sell provides years of use, we know that sometimes things don’t quite go to plan. That’s why we’ve expanded our service sector to become one of the largest teams in East Anglia dedicated to the repair of home electrical and kitchen appliances. This is just another way we can support our customers with our repair service available to anyone who has purchased from us.
Manufacturer guarantee
We may be tech experts, but no one knows their appliances better than the manufacturer themselves. With many items including a manufacturer guarantee, it’s often best to make them your first call. They’ll hopefully be able to diagnose the issue in record time, with parts to spare, but will usually need proof of purchase and the serial number*. The contact information for this should be in the product manual or available online however, if you can’t find the information, please let us know and we’ll be happy to have a look.
*This can usually be found on a sticker somewhere on the product.
Repair service
You can trust us to breathe new life into damaged electricals with Hughes being an authorised repair agent for a number of manufacturers. If we arrange to collect an item for repair, it is your responsibility to ensure that the item is packaged securely with enough packaging to protect the item while travelling. Please make sure that this also includes a sturdy and suitable outer box / cover for the item. If you no longer have the original packaging – don’t panic. Replacement boxes are readily available to purchase online for a small charge.
Please be aware that we can’t accept any returns that are not sufficiently packaged. We will also not be liable for any damage caused in transit and, should this occur, the item will be returned back to the customer un-repaired.
Products are sold for domestic use only.

We employ more than 200 staff across our four dedicated service centres (based in Norwich, Lowestoft, Ipswich and Thetford) with each location having its very own team of skilled engineers and fully equipped workshop. While we will always try to fix problems on the first try without the item ever leaving your home; more complex repairs may require your items being sent to the nearest workshop.
Each one of our service centres also has a dedicated and professional delivery team, ready to deliver and install any of the products that we sell or rent, as well as specialist installers for tasks such as aerials, satellites, built-in appliances and TV wall mount installations.
You may have found that some retailers often have little or no service support in place but we pride ourselves on always attempting to resolve any problem quickly and efficiently. Our friendly East Anglia-based team aim to answer all calls within 20 seconds, so no endless hold music as you’re transferred around the world!
