Put a shine on your crockery and a smile on your face!
All dishwashers wash dishes, but not all of them are HomeConnect enabled, allowing you to control your dishwasher, no matter where you are – with the easy-to-use Home Connect app. The innovations and high tech brilliance doesn’t end there, though. We asked one of our reviewers to put this Siemens dishwasher to the test. Read on to find out how they got on, more about the features – and then enter our free competition…
The most recent Office of National Statistics survey reveals the percentage of households that own certain durable goods, including household appliances. In 2015/16, of all households 97% owned a washing machine and 93% owned a microwave. On the other hand, only 56% of households owned a tumble dryer and 45% of households owned a dishwasher.
We recently moved into a house with a kitchen that had been equipped with completely integrated appliances. Let me share my experience, dear reader: check all appliances BEFORE exchange of contracts. Just three weeks of us* doing the washing up by hand was enough to cause a few… “frank exchanges of opinion” twixt my husband and I; this review could not have come at a better time!
A seasoned loader of dishwashers, I welcomed the arrival of the Siemens SN258W06TG dishwasher like a returning, long-lost family member! The first thing that grabs my attention is the sleek design of this Siemens dishwasher; I like appliances to blend in, so the absence of clunky dials, obtrusive buttons and switches appeals.
You can fit in up to 14 place settings, thanks to the varioFlex Plus baskets. These baskets give you incredibly flexible loading options, thanks to three foldable, divisible levels, six foldable racks located in the upper basket and glass stem holders in the lower basket, that can cope with wine glasses and delicate champagne flutes. In the lower basket every other front rack is foldable, so you can fold racks up / down or whatever way works best for you. This flexibility is brilliant for everyday dishwashing but was, quite frankly, a revelation after a recent family barbecue; grill, salad bowls, greasy pans – all in and cleaned brilliantly.
On the subject of brilliance, Siemens’ brilliantShine system combines their Zeolith® drying tech, Shine&Dry and glass 40° to deliver extraordinary drying and cleaning results. Wine glasses (my acid test for checking drying & shin and, let’s be honest, de rigeur for days after a house move) were incredibly shiny.
Siemens varioSpeed Plus reduces the washing time by up to 66%, showing immediately in the ‘remaining time’ display. Your dishes are sparkling clean and dry (and ready to use again) quickly.
The autoProgramme feature was particularly useful; press the auto button, and the aquaSensor establishes how dirty the water is and then controls when and how much clean water is needed and adjusts the dishwashing temperature, too.
This dishwasher is available to buy online, use our Click & Collect service to collect from your local store in as little as one hour or find out more about our Siemens range. Like many of your products, you can rent this dishwasher, from as little as £5.54p/w.
