We welcome Samsung’s WAM7500/01 – also known as the Samsung R7. This multiroom and Bluetooth speaker is designed to deliver sound quality no matter where you are in the room. I find the design of the speakers to be like no other with an egg shaped design, also has a chrome ring radiator technology that helps the sound disperse at 360 degrees! What this means, in essence, it that is just doesn’t matter where the speaker is placed as you can hear the sound everywhere.
Available in sleek black, the design of the speaker can be a focal point of any room because of its unique and attractive design.
The Samsung R7 is clearly good build quality; it feels hefty and robust and that is down to the high quality materials that Samsung have used. Samsung have also put a few discreet touch controls which includes ‘play/pause’, ‘input’, ‘standby’ and ‘volume’. There is also a status light indicator.
The sound is produced from two acoustic lenses with one near the top and one near the bottom, with a woofer in the middle of the speaker and a upward-facing 25mm tweeter. The Samsung R7 is also an excellent performer giving you immense clarity, a nice amount of bass that is loud & powerful and a good sense of balance.
Samsung R7’s omnidirectional sound means you can place your R7 and you should be able to walk round and still maintain constant sound quality without losing treble or any mid-range clarity or dynamics. It is able to fill a large room comfortably.
Samsung R7 features as a multiroom speaker through an application which is available on Android and IOS and is called ‘multiroom app 2.0’. Within the app you are able to get streaming services including Deezer, Spotify Napstar, Qobuz, Juke, 7 Digital and 8 Tracks! Tune-In and RDio are providers of the internet radio’s which is actually a very good line up of streaming services compared to some other streaming services. Within the app you are able to make your own queues of music that you would like to play and it’s very easy to create your own playlist which all work seamlessly.
If you have two R7’s in the same room, it is easy to group them as a stereo pair within the app. However, equally as easy is the ability to group them to play the same music effortlessly, in different rooms.
Another feature which is absolutely great for Samsung TV lovers is TV SoundConnect which allows you to arrange your speakers in a stereo or multi channel system or make two R7 speakers as rear speakers if you have a Samsung sound bar to achieve true 5.1 sound! Overall, the Samsung R7 multiroom speaker is a high end, well built and innovative design that sounds great. It has a fantastic easy-to-use app with a few extra features that other multi room speakers are not able to do. Don’t just take my word for it though, as the best experience is to actually hear the R7; everyone who’s heard the quality has been impressed with the omnidirectional sound.
