The first microwave I remember, way back when, could almost have been fitted with reversing sensors, such was the size. Much has changed in terms of microwave ability, design and functionality and now size, too. We’ve been finding out more about a fantastic slimline combination microwave oven, the Panasonic NN-CT565MBPQ. Read on to discover more and find out how you can win one of these marvellous microwaves, in our free to enter competition.
Prepare your favourite family meals in a fraction of the time with this Panasonic combination microwave oven. Compact on the outside, it’s BIG on the inside and the 27 litre capacity will have you making mouth-watering meals in minutes.
Thanks to Panasonic’s clever design, the ‘footprint’ of the oven is reduced by as much as 20%, when compared to similar combination ovens, meaning it’ll take up a lot less space in your kitchen, where space is often at a premium. Panasonic have removed the fan from the back of the oven, increasing the interior depth, which gives more usable space inside the microwave oven.
For me, the litmus test of a combination oven is the humble jacket potato. Yeah, sure, any microwave can rustle up a soft spud in a few minutes but what I’m after is fluffy on the outside with a crisp, brown skin. The Panasonic NN-CT565MBPQ doesn’t disappoint with a top fan that distributes the heat more efficiently, giving even, and consistent results.
Next, I’m quickly onto the grill function. A sucker for a bacon butty, I rustled one up in no time and, while I feasted on my odd meal, I contemplated what this combination oven can do. The convection oven cooks as a traditional oven does and with a range of 21 programmes in its auto-cook menu, you don’t need to be a Masterchef to master the controls of the oven. On the subject of control, the touch controls and digital display are incredibly intuitive to use and, thanks to scrolling text, there’s no need to decipher what programme you’re using.
The Panasonic NN-CT565MBPQ has a wonderfully named ‘Chaos Defrost’ defrost programme, which takes the guesswork out of how long you need to defrost your freezer casseroles, soups, bread and meat.
Over the next week, I put this oven through its paces. I used auto cook to cook fish, pasta and porridge (not together, I hasten to add.) Remarkably simple to set up, the results were great. Sunday’s roast dinner of lamb was done on the auto convection programme for medium lamb and it was a resounding success! With 18 programmes still to try, I think this household is already very happy with our latest purchase.
