Introducing the FFU3DGK: Hotpoint’s slightly smaller, some might say more refined English cousin to the American style fridge freezer. This is the perfect solution for a family that needs a lot of cooling capacity but without using up too much kitchen / utility space. Standing at 195cm tall and 70cm wide this really is a great looking appliance.
The FFU3DGK offers a huge amount of space for even the largest size of families with a refrigerator capacity of 302 litres; think of that as roughly 25 bags of shopping or seventy five bottles of four pints of milk. Who wouldn’t want that much milk in their fridge?! The fridge consists of three large shelves which all have variable heights and you don’t need to worry about dropping one when adjusting the height as they are safety glass shelves.
The fridge also has two drawers in which one is larger for those extra-large grocery shops and the extra-large lettuce or two. The two drawers have control-able airflow vents. The vent will be fully closed when fruit is stored in the fridge drawers to keep them nice and fresh. For vegetables, you have up to four small vents to uncover (depending on what vegetables you have in there and the amount stored in them) to control the temperature and the airflow that the compartment will receive.
On most fridges traditionally the salad drawers are at the very bottom of the fridge but in the case of the FFU3DGK they are situated above the Super Cool drawer. The Super Cool and Super Freeze functions quickly chill new items to help keep your favourite foods fresher for longer. Initially the temperature of the super cool drawer will be the same as the whole of the fridge but with the press of a button you are able to change the temperature of this drawer.
The door shelves are adjustable in height so if you want to store those 6 pints of milk but just don’t have the room to lay it down in the fridge you can stand it up in the spacious doors. You can even adjust the height if there just isn’t enough room for it to stand up.
And now the 148 litre freezer just seems too good to be true; the three very large drawers are deep, spacious and brilliantly balanced. Just like the fridge, the freezer comes with its own fast freeze compartment – Super Freeze – situated in the top drawer for when you need to freeze those fresh pieces of meat or even that lasagne from tonight’s dinner.
Defrosting the freezer is a thing of the past as it is frost free, this will mean that the freezer will never build up with frost as the heating element will defrost the freezer around four times a day. This is done via a timer and a pan is used to collect and evaporate the water from the frost that melts from the cold plate and the evaporator coil.
So if you want a spacious and elegant looking fridge freezer but don’t have the room for a huge American-style fridge freezer then the FFU3DGK really is the one for you!
