We delighted to support the fabulous Folk Off Cancer event this Saturday. The Folk Off Cancer event is a very special acoustic gig to raise money for St Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich.
St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people living with a progressive illness. Their work is centred around an individual’s needs, which means specialist support, wherever it is required. They care for people at home, in the community or at the Hospice. They help people deal with problems such as pain, anxiety and fatigue, as well as offering practical advice and family support.
St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent charity which provides services free of charge. Their services cost £9.1 million a year to run, with almost three quarters of that figure coming from the local community, so rely on fundraising, donations and volunteers.
Having hosted the Rock Against Leukaemia gig in 2012 and raising more than £2500, organisers Lisa & Luke wanted to do something to raise money for this excellent charity. As Luke explained “The organisation has been there for our friends and our family and I’m sure that everyone knows at least one person that’s been cared for by the St Elizabeth Hospice…”
The night will feature some of Ipswich’s fantastic musicians (old favourites of the scene to outstanding new young talent) and will be an intimate acoustic gig at the brilliant St Nicholas Centre in Ipswich. There will be a great raffle on the night (including an Android tablet from the lovely team at our Felixstowe Road store) and all funds raised will go to this amazing charity. Tickets are selling fast – so get yours today, or make a pledge by visiting the Folk Off Cancer page, today!
