Swaffham Town Council has recently taken over the organisation and management of the prestigious Swaffham Farmers & Craft Market. This is held every third Sunday of the month from 9am until 2pm on the centrally located Market Place and sees many customers, old and new, come to the town.
The distinguished farmers market promotes regional agriculture and ensures a continuing supply of fresh, local produce. The goods on sale have been grown, reared or processed by the stallholders themselves. Craftsmen and craftswomen also sell their unique wares, all of which have been handmade by the stallholders. This is a great opportunity to get started on some unique gifts for Christmas.
This Sunday, there will be lots of stalls selling a variety of items including cheese, pies, olives, savoury and sweet pastries, preserves and plants, herbs (in pots), fabric crafts (including decorations of dried fruit), vegetables, fruit and herb seedlings, flower seedlings, recipe books, willow sculptures/structures, wooden planters, herb pillows, herbal teas, jams and chutneys, meat, juice, alcohol and so much more. A burger van will also be on site serving refreshments and organic/locally produced food with a small eating area for tired feet.
When you’ve bought the very best local, seasonal goods don’t forget Hughes for everything from standmixers and soupmakers to fridges, freezers and everything in between!
