Gavin Hodge of Age UK Suffolk and Joan Key have recently formed a nonprofit making luncheon club called the Soup-a-lunch club. This will be held at the Leiston Community Centre. Their aim is to provide a monthly hot meal, of soup with rolls and a dessert at the suggested cost of £3 to the elderly and those living alone, who would enjoy company. This will be open to all residents of Haverhill and District. They aim to have the first meal on Tuesday 14th April.
Joan approached Sam, manager at our Haverhill store, and asked if we could help her obtain kettles and microwaves for this great cause. Sam & his team were delighted to be able to help and has donated two kettles and two microwaves. Pictured is Sam handing over stock to Joan Key of Soup-a-lunch.
