Review: TEAC TN-100 Turntable

Guest blog by Steve

The TEAC TN-100 turntable is an ideal entry level range turntable, offering excellent build quality and sound quality along with affordability. It makes an excellent addition to any Hi-Fi, and it is an ideal purchase for anyone looking to buy their first turntable, or someone who is building their first Hi-Fi.

Unlike other budget turntables, the TN-100’s base is made of wood, not plastic, which dampens vibrations and offers a cleaner, richer sound.

The TN-100 punches way above its weight in more than one way, both in ease of operation, looks and performance.

It has a 3 speed option, so you can play 7″ or 12″ records without a problem, and the belt drive gives smooth playing and operation.

It has a switchable output, between phono out – for use with a preamp – and line out with phono EQ for use with powered monitors or receivers. An additional USB output allows vinyl collections to be recorded to Mac or PC computers.

It is a simple looking design, with no confusing controls, and the TN-100s ease of use was a key factor in my purchase of this product.

I have recently purchased a TN-100 to go with a new Hi-Fi, and I haven’t been disappointed! I was very impressed with both the sound and build quality, and I definitely recommend this turntable over others to customers. I have a mixture of old records from the 1980s and modern presses, and even the older records from the 80s sound incredible. All genres sound great through this turntable, and I am always recommending it to people who are looking for a great turntable for a great price.
