Have you got a flat screen TV and are looking for something to increase the sound performance? With TV bezels’ getting sleeker it means that the space to locate speakers is also reduced. Despite huge advances in the sound reproduction it’s fair to say that the brilliant picture isn’t always matched by sound of the same calibre. If that sounds familiar, then I can recommend the Panasonic SC-ALL30TEBK soundbase.
The size fits perfectly with a 50” Panasonic TV, with dimensions of H: 63mm x W:600mm x D:365mm. It is a simple and attractive design with a nice clear display panel at the front of the unit showing you what input you are currently on and current volume level.
I got it straight out the box with the figure of 8 mains lead. I have used an optical cable to connect it to the TV, with simple one lead connection.
The remote is simple to use and really intuitive. Panasonic have included the Viera Link on this soundbase so you can, if you want, connect it up via a HDMI cable and it will allow you to control the volume on the soundbase with your Panasonic remote control. On the Theatre system remote on the right you have a volume with + and – buttons. It has a pairing button to easily connect to a Bluetooth enabled device which allows you to listen to your music from a compatible phone or tablet. On the left you have a setup button which will display options on the front of the unit, enabling you to turn features on and off. Sound can be found next to this one which will allow you to adjust bass if needed.
When setting the system up you can download an app called Panasonic Music Streaming which. Once downloaded, you simply open the app and it will give you a welcome message and look for speakers that are on the wifi. Once it has found one it will ask what you would like to call the unit i.e. living room and will save that accordingly. When you have more than one you can group them all to play the same thing or listen to different things in different rooms. Through the app you can also use Spotify and other music streaming services so you can listen to the music that you want without having to look for the CD.
The Panasonic soundbase is a multiroom enabled unit, meaning you can connect it to other devices around the house to play and enjoy your music in any room. Panasonic have created a system multi room system which makes listening to your music easier around the house as it can be managed by one app. You can listen to your Smartphone / NAS Drive / Tablet / Digital Radio and much more.
TheSCALL30TEBK is a 200w 2.2 speaker system; it has two subs built into the bottom of the unit to help create a really good bass without the need for extra boxes and leads around your TV unit. I particularly liked this as once it has been set up you almost forget that it’s there and just get on with enjoying amazing sound quality.
This unit is perfect if you want to increase the sound quality without going too mad. It provides clarity to people’s voices and bass when it’s needed for the perfect balance. Put short, it’s the perfect addition to an amazing TV.
