The new series of Hisense TV allows you to experience home television like never before, in glorious Ultra HD 4K resolution. With as much as four times the detail of full HD, you’ll catch every single detail with stunningly realistic picture quality and beautifully natural motion. With a powerful quad-core processor to back it up, powerful TruSurround Audio and futureproof 4K technologies (this includes HDMI 2.0, HEVC and a USB 3.0 connection) and a wide variety of smart apps, even if your favourite show isn’t on, you can still enjoy thousands of titles on Netflix, Amazon Prime and more.
Working on television departments primarily for nearly 10 years myself, setting up all the latest technology that premium manufactures can offer, I was quite sceptical upon unboxing a 4K television from a company called ‘Hisense’ at a price point of a purchase from a shop that sells less of a premium range.
After getting the TV into a store and setting up and having a play with it, I decided to do a bit of research on Hisense; they are a company that was originally set up in 1969 that started producing something quite different to televisions, they started with radios. They then started manufacturing black and white TV’s, colour TV’s and many more household appliances. After looking deeper into the brand, I became a lot more curious on how their newest 4K set would perform against some competitors.
When it came to unboxing the TV, after pulling it out the box and setting it up on the pedestal, the first thing when you see the TV is that it’s a pretty attractive set, a nice finish coupled with a thin edge gives it a good finish which gives it a lot of finesse, giving it a more premium look. It would make a nice compliment to anyone’s living room.
Setting up a TV for the first time can be quite a complicated process for some people, but turning on this set for the first time I was pleasantly surprised to see a simple five step procedure; just five minutes later I am on the channel search and once this is all done I am free to explore the features this TV has to offer.
The first thing I look at is the guide and how easy it is to navigate. With one press of a button, I can turn on the EPG and this gives me everything that’s on now and later that day. The TV includes a built-in High Definition Freeview tuner and it even includes the ability to attach your own external memory to give you built-in PVR (Personal Video Recorder), and this gives you features like series link record and you can also pause live TV!
The next big thing to have a look at was the Smart features. I have connected the TV to the internet wirelessly which was a quick process, also just step by step and you’re connected! Finding the network you want to connect to, popping the password in and you’re all set to go. Looking at the remote, the first thing I noticed were shortcuts to some of the Smart functionalities, a small button labelled ‘Netflix’ and another labelled ‘YouTube’; probably two of the most used Smart apps, which I thought was a ‘smart’ idea (pun intended). So the first thing I do is press the YouTube button; this gets me straight on to the app to have a quick search for ‘Biggest Fails of 2016’ – just for research purposes, you understand!
This model also boasts the fact that is it has 4K HEVC codec built-in to it and a quad-core processor so you can stream 4K content seamlessly to make the most out of this television from 4K Blu-ray to compatible smart apps.
Hisense offer this model in 40, 50 and 55 inch screen sizes. This range means that whatever size room you have, this TV will sit beautifully in whatever size you need, at an affordable price. We have all sizes available online, ready to go out for delivery and install or to take home from your local store, using our click and collect service – perfect if you’re too excited to wait!
