The new 40-inch television from Digihome DIG-40273SMFHDLED arrived in store this month and, as Digihome is our most popular budget TV manufacturers, we were keen to see just what their latest TV is like. As you would expect, this television comes with excellent HD picture quality and is packed with all of the smart features you could possibly need.
Straight out of the box, the simple instruction manual really helps with the setting up. There is a small pedestal stand that needs to be attached before you begin but that only takes a few minutes. Once you plug in the aerial and the power lead, the onscreen guide prompts you all the way through the initial automatic set up and it soon finds all of the available Freeview channels.
When it comes to accessories, the two HDMI inputs on the back (one ARC) will allow you to connect a bluray player and a soundbar. In addition, there is a scart input in case you have older equipment and also a VGA connection to allow you to use the Digihome smart TV as a PC/laptop monitor.
The remote control has large buttons and is very well laid out making it easy to use, and has dedicated buttons for quick access to Netflix, the Internet, a media browser and the electronic programme guide. The Internet button will allow you to access smart features such as BBC iPlayer, YouTube and other streaming services in addition to social apps such as Facebook and Twitter. You will of course need access to Wi-Fi as this TV will connect wirelessly to your router or, for a more reliable connection, you can connect with the LAN straight from the router to the TV.
This full HD LED screen gives an extremely good picture performance for all of your favourite films and TV shows. We thoroughly tested the product’s image quality on conventional television broadcasts (BBC, ITV etc) before progressing to popular streaming services. From this, we can happily say that the image was vibrant and the blacks consistent, with a good depth to the picture. For further testing, we connected it up to a Bluray player through the HD socket and the picture was fantastic! The colours were bright and looked amazingly accurate and realistic. This Digihome smart TV is just what you need for watching your favourite films and TV series.
Overall, this Digihome 40273SMFHDLED Smart Full HD TV is excellent value for money and provides an excellent viewing experience with vibrant colours and deep contrasts. The realistic image quality helps create a more immersive atmosphere. The connectivity is first class and the smart features are responsive and easy to use.
