Could YOU be the Suffolk’s Spielberg, Britain’s next Boyle (Danny, not Susan) or East Anglia’s answer to Edgar Wright? Then you may want to know about the East Anglian Film Festival, which begins on 10th October.
The East Anglian Student Film Festival is supported and organised by One Film Society, a passionate group of film makers who are dedicated to grassroots filmmaking and beyond.
The festival creates opportunities for students to learn from one another and talented industry professionals. At the festival’s heart is the notion that there is so much power in the art of visual storytelling; the festival acts as a platform for young filmmakers to gain recognition for their talents. East Anglia’s newest & most exciting and student film festival will include an action packed day of short film making, storyboarding and screen acting workshops, as well as a film review writing master class, Q & A sessions with industry experts, cosplay, and screenings.
Films are judged by an expert panel of directors, writers, editors, composers, film educators, and actors and we at Hughes are delighted to be sponsoring the East Anglian Rising Star award. This category is extremely prestigious and we are proud to celebrate the very best that East Anglia has to offer. The talented winner will receive a fantastic new Panasonic HD camera, to help them in their quest to make it big!
The festival is on the 10th October and you can find out more by watching this short (but amazing – it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck) film. Incidentally, he music is Lacrimosa Dies Illa from Mozart’s Requiem Mass. It took me a long while to work that out, so please have a listen!
We are excited and privileged to be among the local and national organisations supporting this event and feel sure the festival will grow year on year and build upon the strong links with universities and industry.
