It’s easier than you might think to get the detergent dose wrong when doing the laundry. Thanks to i-DOS, it’s no longer a worry. The automatic dosing system from Bosch uses the optimum amount of detergent every wash.
The best way to reduce washing costs is fully automatically. With i-DOS, not only is it incredibly easy to achieve perfect results – you’ll also help to protect the environment. All you need to do is fill the large washing machine drawer with 1.3 litres of liquid detergent. Then you can wash multiple loads of laundry without needing to top it up. This cuts out the additional wash cycles that result from using too much detergent, making your laundry cycle quicker and, as well as saving energy, you can save up to 7,062* litres of water per year.

Never too much or too little detergent, just the perfect amount.
Once activated, the i-DOS system measures the detergent automatically, to the nearest millilitre. Sensors inside the washing machine detect the type of fabric, the load volume in the drum and the degree of soiling, and adjusts the detergent to the optimum dose accordingly. In this way, you’ll achieve the best results for your clothes, whilst saving detergent and water.
Using too much detergent – even by a little – leads to significantly higher water and energy consumption when washing. Visible detergent residues can be left on clothing, which can trigger skin irritation and allergies.
Using too little detergent can lead to poorer washing results. Stains won’t be completely removed and could be left on clothes permanently. Insufficient detergent can also result in discolouration and unpleasant odours.
Say goodbye to the detergent ball. Automatic self-dosing means you only need to fill up with detergent once every 20 washes*.
20 washes is based on the calculation of correct dosage per types of programme. It is approximate because we can’t gauge the mix of washes that any one customer does. It also takes into account that the machine may add more detergent than the recommended dose if it discovers heavy soiling.
Why a month? The energy label is based on 220 washes per annum so approx 20 (18.33 to be accurate) is the calculated number of washes per month.
However, we know that everyone is different. No two people do the same amount of washing each week every week of the year. Some more some less.
