Here at Hughes, we strive to make a difference in our local communities. As part of this, we organise and take part in many charity events throughout the year. One charity we were keen to help in 2019 was the amazing East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH), this organisation works enormously hard to look after children and young people who suffer with life-threatening conditions. This also includes supporting their families throughout the treatment process. With this cause close to our hearts, we are proud of Hughes Smart’s involvement in their latest project.
EACH has recently seen a £12,000, state-of-the art cinema room installed in its hospice at Milton, on the outskirts of Cambridge, as part of a project co-ordinated by Together for Cinema. Designing and installing cinema rooms in children’s hospices around the UK, they called on Hughes Smart to install the cinema and smart technology donated to the cause by RTI, Harman, Arcam, TDI, Optoma and Projector Point.
Our very own Ashley Shorey-Mills, the General Manager at Hughes Smart, said: “When we were approached by Together for Cinema via our trade body – CEDIA* – about the project we were very happy to help by providing the necessary skilled engineers to carry out the planning and installation.
“There were some challenges, not least having to work around the hoists, but I am pleased to say we managed to overcome them and are delighted with the finished result.
“We are thrilled to have been involved with this project which will be of such benefit to EACH in the great work it does supporting so many people.”
