I’ve already written about my love of the Coca Cola truck and how it’s a pre-Christmas marker for me so I’m delighted to see that the iconic Coca Cola truck will be heading to our region between now and Christmas. I say ‘the iconic truck’ but on looking at their touring schedule there would seem to be more than one ‘iconic truck’ as evidenced by its ability to be in both Birmingham and Grimsby simultaneously! I mean, I know there is magic in abundance around Christmas but I doubt there’s enough magic in the world to cope with Spaghetti Junction at rush hour… Anyway, our shops in Norwich and Clacton – the city & town where the truck(s?) will be appearing, will be open and happy to help with those last minute gift ideas, home appliances and even something to treat yourself!
Anyway, putting aside my (usually hidden) scepticism for a moment, I’ll be dragging The Things along to see the truck. At nearly 3 and nearly 4 years old, this is the first year that they’ve really understood* Christmas and I am all in favour of whipping them up into such a frenzy that, come Christmas Eve, they’ll be exhausted, leaving His Nibs and I to relax, enjoy some wine and get a Bourne film on. Because what is a Christmas break without some Matt Damon?
This post is not endorsed, sponsored or even approved by Coca Cola, which is probably a good thing as I’m not a huge fan of fizzy drinks (unless brewed from grapes). It’s just my own meandering thoughts.
* Understood the basics: Father Christmas, presents, snow. Not the deeper elements of Christmas.
