This weekend, businesses in Haverhill are preparing to blitz the litter and tidy the town for the Community Clean-up, called “Give CB9 a Shine”.
Manager at our Haverhill branch, Sam Potter, was interviewed by the local press and told them “We always try and get involved in local things so when I saw the leaflet come through for the clean-up, I thought ‘let’s get involved.'”
Sam and his team don’t just wait for this annual event, though – as he explained to Cambridge News:
There is also graffiti in the walkway, and Sam and a colleague have had to clear it up before when dead leaves blocked drains there, causing flooding, which Sam is committed to the “community” side of the clean-up as well.
“It’s the community coming together aspect,” he said. “It’s a way of making people generally aware of keeping the town tidy.
“And it’s all about keeping people in our high street.”
Sam and the team will be getting involved by cleaning the surroundings of our building, both front and back. This includes exterior walls / doors and pathways and they’ve already got started, as our Peter shows!
It’s not too late to help tidy the town and you can find more details on the Facebook page here. If you’re in Haverhill, why not pop into the branch, check out some one-off bargains and see how you can clean up too on our clearance items!
