Worried by wi-fi? Befuddled by broadband? Still think an app is something you do by the fire? Well, help is on hand as Hughes & Suffolk Libraries are working in partnership to offer free, impartial advice, guidance and help with the libraries’ “Get Connected” scheme. Get Connected events run over a few hours with library staff and our own electrical experts available to talk to people who have either specifically come in for help or who just happen to come into the library. Together, we can talk you through the great online library services and troubleshoot any problems you may have had when using the service for the first time as well as guiding you through accessing the library’s free wifi, ebook loans and free MP3s and streaming. Just pop in with your tablet, ‘phone or ereader so they can get the services set up. If you’re not sure about what tech would be best for you, just ask; we’ll offer you free, impartial advice and can guide you through. From the basics of an iPad, making video calls around the world or downloading the entire works of William Shakespeare, we’ll be on hand to help.
- Join us in Newmarket on 5th May from 10:30am – 1:30pm;
- We’ll be at Lowestoft on 9th June, from 10:00am – 1:00pm.
Suffolk Libraries won the Digital category award at this year’s EDGE library conference in Edinburgh for their series of “Get Connected” events. The awards recognise innovative library and information projects which demonstrate the benefits of library services to communities, so we are truly delighted to be working alongside them. If you can’t make it to your library, pop in to one of our stores where the same expert advice and guidance is available. Check your local store listing as many of our stores have demonstration products available.
You can find your local Suffolk library here and your local Hughes store here.
