Handheld vacuums are convenient and extremely handy, they are becoming very popular for a variety of reasons and with a variety of models to choose from for added versatility; use on the stairs, in corners and in cars! Everyday vacuuming can soon become an unnecessary complicated chore, now think about making a quick 5 minute hoover of the car instead of half an hour getting the extension cable out, and moving it round the car as you go! Having a handheld cleaner means that there is no cord, or big cylinder to cause these problems. There are so many handheld vacuums around these days that you may not know what one to go for, what’s the most powerful? What do you get for your money? What has the biggest capacity holder? Do any of them have any extra accessories? Let’s compare my 3 favourite models so far:
The Hoover SP36DWP6 is one of the many we stock, this vacuum cleaner is one of the basic ones you can get, it does what is needed! On a full charge this product can run for 11 minutes, with a 3.2 volt battery power, and it has a built in crevice tool which also comes in handy for getting in those nooks and crannys! It is the perfect item if you were looking to pick up light dust or ash from a log burner. This is the budget end of the market so won’t break the bank!
The next model is the Vax H86GAC. This handheld is a lovely little lightweight cleaner, weighing in at just 1.4kg, and is a compact vacuum. This vacuum is very good for hoovering out cars and even comes with an in-car charger so that if you are using it for the car, it can’t run out of charge! On a full charge this product will run for 16 minutes. Very good for all those hard to reach places, it has a 0.3 litre dust capacity and can be used for convenient use around the house! With a high 12 volt power and a low price marginally dearer than the previous model, this is definitely a good buy!
The last model is the AEG AG5104WD. With a 4.8 volt power this cleaner delivers great suction with 10 minutes of run time and a dust capacity of 0.5 litres. It’s a true featherweight too, coming in at under 1kg! This vacuum has a built in crevice tool which is also very handy, this model is perfect for all the small corners and the wheels on the bottom take the strain away from your wrists, making cleaning a surface easy and almost effortless. This model is also a “wet and dry” so can even help with those spillages!
Overall, all three models excel in their task. But the AEG is the winner for me… with fantastic build quality, the ability to do wet and dry, great power and a modest price tag, what more could you want!? There are of course plenty more models you can find on our website and in-store!
