The Beccles Duck Race held its annual event on Saturday 29th July – People from around the town and local businesses could enter their own decorated duck into the race, for the chance of a glory-filled win! All the money raised was in aid of Beccles Sea Cadets, located on the beautiful Quay.
The event has a variety of entertainment on offer; a Broadwing Bird Control Display, K-SYL-R Circus Show, Raft Judging and Race, Kuk Sool Won Display, Great Yarmouth Sea Cadet Band, Suffolk Fire & Rescue Display and the Duck Race itself (of course!).
Sam and his colleagues, Ricky & James from the Beccles store decorated and entered their very own duck into the race (pictured above). Unfortunately their duck got stuck in the reeds and didn’t win the race – Also once they received their duck back they noticed it had lost its headphones in the water, so a replacement pair will need to be found for next year – However they had a fantastic time decorating the duck, getting involved in the event and meeting everybody that came along on the day!
