Despite my love of all things Christmassy and traditional there are times when you just hark after something a bit… different. Sure, I too will waste several bottles of good red wine by, to all intents and purposes, lobbing it in a pan with some pot pourri and cinnamon to make mulled wine. Yeah, it’ll soon be time to make like Nannah and get the sprouts on and start the weary journey to the attic to find the decs. These are part and parcel of the traditions that are handed down to us or that we create for ourselves; tried and tested and – dare I say it – occasionally tedious. So when something comes along that’s a bit different, a bit out there, then what’s not to love? And so, to Wymondham this weekend, where there’ll be Christmas things a-plenty, just with a bit of a twist. Ladles and jellyspoons… The Wymondham Dickensian Steampunk Christmas Fayre!
Even with my hyperbole switch set to maximum I can’t beat the poster (above). Coglings! Bubbleologist! High class refreshments (the ubiquitous red wine with pot pourri)! Fire eating! AND IT’S FREE! Bravo to the Wymondham Lions for this great alternative fayre.
If you’re heading to this cracking fayre, pop into our Wymondham store where Andy and the team are always on hand to help… even with the strangest enquiries!
