We were chuffed to be notified that we’d been shortlisted in the Samsung Retailer of the Year awards. The event is one of the most eagerly anticipated and prestigious events in the electrical industry calendar. Of the many outstanding retailers who were nominated by their local Samsung representatives, just nine are guaranteed a place at the final, so we were pleased to make it to the final and sent along Nick Boast from our Bury store and Jay Hambridge, from our Mason Road store, to the finals event in Brighton on October 3rd.
We’re delighted to have been named Samsung’s Retailer of the Year, 2017. Identifying and rewarding the highest standards of product knowledge, marketing creativity, sales skills and customer service across the independent retail sector, the Samsung Retailer of the Year award is an event that showcases some of the finest independent electrical retailers across the country.
Shoes shined and best bib and tucker at the ready, Nick and Jay were nervous and excited in equal measure as the envelope containing the name of Samsung’s Retailer of the Year 2017 was opened. Jay described it as it taking an interminable time but, finally, the envelope was opened and… HUGHES HAD WON! A delighted Nick and Jay took to the stage to accept the fantastic trophy and to thank the judges.
Gregor Muir, editor of Innovative Electrical Retailing, was one of the judges and said “Needless to say, I was blown away by the levels of commitment, craft and category expertise used to demonstrate Samsung best business practice, both online and in store.”
The trophy now sits proudly in our trophy cabinet. Our product knowledge and customer care extends beyond Samsung products, of course.
