Our renowned Hughes HomeTech Show is back this weekend! 2017 marks a quarter of a century since the annual event began and this year is going to be BIGGER and BETTER than ever!
Located at the Royal Norfolk Showground, the HomeTech show is a must-see event, firmly established in the local calendar. Our beautiful and largely peaceful part of the country rarely sees such exhibitions, as these tend to be reserved for major cities, like London or Birmingham. A family-owned business, established in the East of England, we like to stay true to our roots. That’s why, once a year, our Hughes HomeTech team, thousands of customers and the major electrical manufacturers all come together to produce England’s largest electrical sales show by an independent electrical retailer. In our previous shows we have seen over 150,000 people visit, with some 65,000 purchases being made – including over 12,000 TVs!
Each year we work hard to improve on the previous year’s show by bringing the very latest technology to our customers, in an environment that encourages you to really interact with the products, chat directly with our team and the manufacturers to have a true hands-on experience.
Along with some fantastic technology on demonstration, we will be offering some incredible prices over the weekend, many of which will be market-leading prices for the products we’ll be showcasing at the HomeTech Show 2017.
There’ll be some celeb-spotting, too, as we’ll be joined by some well-known faces in our cookery demonstration theatre. The Cookery Live Crew is producing the largest cookery theatre in the history of the HomeTech Show, and a host of celebrities and local chefs will be demonstrating their exceptional culinary skills.
On Saturday, we’re delighted to welcome the winner of the 2016 Great British Bake Off, the wonderful Candice Brown, who’ll be baking some sweet treats, live. Over the weekend, she will be joined by MasterChef The Professionals contestant Jamie Mountford, Paralympic swimmer & gold medal winner, Jessica Jane Applegate MBE from Great Yarmouth, and local award winning chef and business owner Andy Snowling.
Joining the show for the first time this year, to oversee all the chefs and talk through their demonstrations, is Sunday Brunch regular guest and award-winning chef, Charlie Hodson. A local man with a local heart, Charlie, also a Feast Norfolk columnist, is passionate about all things foodie but, more importantly, all things that are locally-produced right here in the county.
Charlie will be joined by Coxfords of Aylsham who, with more than 50 years’ experience, will be teaching you all you need to know about locally-sourced meat, with their butchery demonstration.
Once you have visited the Cookery Demonstration Theatre and whetted your appetite, why not visit the farmers’ market and sample some of the best local produce from the area’s finest producers? They include The Cheese and Pie Man, the Norfolk Sausage Company, Pasta Gusto, Carol’s Cakes and Buns, Kind Food and local brewery and winner of Best London Dry Gin in the World 2017, Bullards. All these wonderful producers will be handing out limited samples and selling their incredible products, so don’t miss out.
The HomeTech show is truly a family event so there will also be entertainment for the children with balloon modellers, face painters and child-friendly stalls. Whether you’re interested in gadgets, kitchen appliances, the latest in TV and audio technology or just want to enjoy a friendly browse, there’s something for everyone at the Hughes HomeTech Show.
So, join the tens of thousands of people who make this a regular event in their diary; come and visit us and enjoy the show. Remember: it’s FREE parking and FREE entry, too.
