Review: Shark NV350UKR Lift Away Vacuum Cleaner

Guest blog by Kevin.

When you’re looking for a new vacuum cleaner there is a wide choice to pick from: do you go for upright or cylinder, mains or rechargeable? Do you have stairs or all hard flooring or a combination of both?  It’s little wonder that for many people the decision can be mind-boggling and customers often just stick with the same brand they’ve used for years (or even decades), not looking at some other brands that may’ve pioneered revolutionary advancements in how we clean flooring.  So, in the interest of research, I checked out the Shark NV350UKR.

So, what is in the box?  The vacuum is packaged unassembled; you get the floor head, the main body, a crevice tool and dusting brush, a flexible pipe metal tube, a handy getting started booklet and instruction manual. There is a freephone number on the top of the box in the unlikely event you get into trouble.

Assembly is very easy and all was ready to go in a few easy steps. The getting started booklet has clear diagrams to show where everything goes. Once unboxed, all you have to do is attach the main body to the floor head which just clicks into place, click the metal tube into place, attach the holder for the tools, attach the flexible hose and that’s it – you’re ready to go.

Operation itself is straightforward; it has a bright red switch which has three settings located on the top of the main body: off, bare floors or carpets. To use the vacuum as an upright just put your foot on the top of the base pull the handle back select which type of flooring you are cleaning and let the Shark NV350 do the rest.

The on-board tools are easy to access, with a nice quick release mechanism. Just squeeze the holding clips and the flexible hose will release effortlessly so you can use the on board tools as required.

The Shark NV350’s floor head is perfect to deep clean the fibres of your carpets. It has a swivel design so is easy to navigate around furniture. The adaptive head will auto-adjust so is suitable for hard floors, too. As with many vacuums it is bagless, so no need to hunt (and pay) for replacement bags and with its 2.1 litre container plenty of time between emptying. It has a long 8m main lead so will mean you can cover a nice large area before having to find another socket.

When trying to decide which vacuum to buy stairs can often be problematic to deal with. The Shark NV350 handles stairs perfectly with its lift-away feature. Just push the button on the side, lift the main body up and it lifts of the base and converts to a portable vacuum. Its flat base means it will sit on most steps so no need to try to precariously balance it on the stairs while trying to clean.

The on-board crevice tool and dusting brush are always to hand so no need to go hunting for them when you need to get into the corners or to get the biscuit crumbs of the sofa.

If you have any allergy sufferers in the family the Shark NV350 has an anti-allergen complete seal technology which captures and holds 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum.

To sum up: with its sturdy design, lift-away feature and the all-floors brush head, the NV350 should be capable of tackling all your cleaning needs and should it develop any problems, Sharks free 5 year warranty means any reliability issues will be taken care of.

Hardwood, carpets or stairs: the Shark NV350UK is capable of tackling all three. Buy online today, use our Click & Collect service to pick up from your local store in as little as one hour or ask your nearest store about a demo.
